Gwyn Howard

Gwyn joined the Corps 17 June 1964.  
He served for six years - 3 years active,
3 years reserve. After training at Parris
Island, Gwyn went to Camp Lejeune,
NC as an 1141 Electrician.  He was
transferred to Camp Pendleton, CA to
Alfa 1/1 where he trained for Vietnam.  
He served in Vietnam one year, one
month, and ten days. On 1 June 66,
Gwyn earned the rank Sgt (E-5). He
was Honorably discharged on 9 March
1970.  After leaving the Corps, he
worked for South Central Bell for eight
years, Noble Drilling Corp. for 23 years,
and worked in Nigeria, Africa for three
years until ‘retirement’ in 1999.  He is
presently working at Hiller Systems,
Inc.  He joined the P.L. Wilson
Detachment in August 2008 and
currently serves as the chair of the
Semper Fi Riders.  2009  serves as
Judge Advocate
